NEW:

Some pictures of the school days are available at this site. (Thanks Sean!)

The final pdf version of the program, can be found here: program.pdf
The macros for the Scientific Contributions can be found here: macros

The drafts of the lecture notes received so far can be found here: notes as a compressed .tar file.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The topics covered by the courses and lectures will include:

  • White Dwarfs (Althaus)
  • Neutron Stars (Vucetich)
  • Black Hole Physics (Romero)
  • High-Energy Emission from Relativistic Outflows (Aharonian)
  • Black Holes in the Galaxy (Paredes)
  • Accretion Power in Compact Objects (Gómez)
  • Microquasars (Bosch-Ramon, Mirabel)
  • Obscured High Mass X-ray Binaries (Chaty)
  • AGNs (Cellone)
  • Gamma-Ray Bursts (Dermer)

There will be fifty-minute individual lectures followed by a question and answer discussion, two-lecture courses and four-lecture courses. Lectures will start at 9 a .m. There will be coffee breaks and a lunch break with ample time for discussions with Professors. Students are encouraged to present contributions related to their own research either in the form of short oral presentations (10 minutes plus questions) or posters.
